The big three games of December 28
There are quite a few NBA games to bet on today and there is still plenty of time to think about the choices. The season is in full swing and the teams are starting to show their potential for a deep run in the playoffs, with some players shining beyond expectations and others not delivering like in the past seasons.
Brooklyn Nets (10-19) @ Indiana Pacers (23-5)
The Indiana Pacers had one of the best starts in NBA history and they continue to lead the Eastern Conference with just one win ahead of the Miami Heat. They had their first losing streak of the season last week when they lost two straight games but quickly managed to bounce back and get right on track.
The team has shown that it is great on both ends of the floor but it remains one of the strongest teams in the league when it comes to defense. This Saturday night, the Pacers will play against the Brooklyn Nets for the second straight time. When the two teams met earlier this week, Indiana won by a decent margin at 103-86.
While the Pacers had a break on Christmas, the Nets weren’t so lucky and they lost to the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday to make it a losing streak of four games.
The Indiana Pacers are favorites to win again, with online bookmakers giving them a -12.5 point spread. While the spread is pretty big, the strong Pacers defensive lineup is likely to keep the Nets at bay and help Indiana cover the 13 points handicap.
Detroit Pistons (14-17) @ Washington Wizards (12-14)
The Washington Wizards will probably have to play without Bradley Beal tonight and this gives the Detroit Pistons a good opportunity to make up for its recent blunder against a sub-par opponent.
Detroit is looking to get its eighth win on the road from the past 10 tries later tonight and the Wizards may be struggling a bit. Washington has been averaging 92.3 points per game against Detroit and it will be a challenge for the team to get more on Saturday.
Beal suffered a left leg injury on Friday when the Pistons lost in Minnesota and while the X-Rays came back negative, he is scheduled for an MRI today and remains uncertain as of now.
The match is still expected to be fairly close as a 2.5-point spread separates the two teams, with Washington being the favorites. However, considering the fact that the Pistons are comfortable with playing on the road and with the possibility of Beal being away from the court, Detroit will most likely take the win.
Charlotte Bobcats (14-16) @ Atlanta Hawks (16-13)
The Southeast Division is one of the toughest ones in the league, with four teams of the top 6 in the Eastern Conference fighting to stay ahead. While the Miami Heat has secured a nice lead for itself, two division rivals will meet on the court tonight as the Atlanta Falcons take on the Charlotte Bobcats.
The Hawks are in good spirits after edging ahead of the Cavaliers 127-125 and are looking for another good game to improve their already good record this season. On the other side of the court, the Bobcats may not be in the best spirits after a losing to the Thunder by 4 points.
It will be the second time this season that the Bobcats play against the Hawks and Atlanta won the first one 103-94.
The point spread is now at -6.5 for Atlanta and while they are likely to win the game, it will be a fairly close matchup and the spread might be too big to bet on Hawks right now.
