NCAA 2012: Three teams who deserve to make it to the field

Making way to the NCAATournament court, be it as a team or as a spectator, is equally important as it is for a bubble to resist the surface tension of its layer from failing. The same is case with the three teams of the last four, who too are wondering if they can get into the tournament or just have to watch the entire tournament on TV. But personally what I feel is that they deserve to go dancing. Here are the reasons why I think so.

Dragons of Drexel: The team has a wonderful track record of winning the Colonial Athletic Association with a 16-2 record in conference, while maintaining an overall record of 27-6 at the same time. Trust me! Winning own conference does matter. Someone quoted it right, “Form is temporary, but class is permanent!”

Now many of you would bring in the game in which the Dragons lost it to the VCU. Well! To make it clear to you, I must remind you about VCU’s last season’s performance. When it comes to irrational coaching and underrated players, I don’t see any point to feel ashamed in losing the title to VCU. Dragons’ flawless defense line up is not only capable enough to win them a game, but also to take the team to the second weekend at least.

Washington Huskies: Basketball and football are quite indifferent in many aspects. Just as regular season games are important for the latter, the same holds true for basketball too. I know it won’t look good if the regular-season champion of a power conference doesn’t make it to the field. Many of you won’t agree with me. But my take on this is that winning regular seasons should mean something in the NCAA Tournament, shouldn’t it?

Personally, I like the body work of the team in the conference. All they need is to feel the heat of the game. Once the Huskies get hot, they won’t leave a thing until they achieve it. This factor worked in their favor when they won with the best record of 14-4. Now the question arises if it was fair that the Huskies didn’t get a return game against the California Golden Bears, after they lost to the latter in Seattle. I can give it in writing and support to Tony Wroten and Terrence Ross that the Huskies will be an appealing team in the tournament to win at least one game.

Colorado State Rams: Colorado State players mustn’t be underestimated in any case, especially when they showed their potential by winning 20-11 in the Mountain West Conference. I think the winning results of the team are alone enough to make anyone realize how good of a league they play in.

The Rams have even a track record of beating elite teams. The Colorado State team hasn’t spared UNLV, New Mexico and San Diego State from their list. In fact, the UNLV, who earlier have beaten New Carolina, lost to the Colorado State Rams. Playmakers, Wes Eikmeier and Dorian Green, along with collective efforts of other players of the team can actually lead the team to win at least a game in the NCAAthis year.

So, don’t you think that, if we refer to these teams’ wins in the conferences, their way to the March Madness is quite justified? Let us know what you think.
