Our top pick of the season of Underclass men would have to be Kendall Marshall – the point guard for North Carolina. Today we present you our pick of underclass stars that are sure to etch their names in the Sports history books as the NCAA tournament and March Madness heroes.

Thomas Robinson, Kansas

If we were to select one player on whose shoulders an entire team’s fortune lies, it would have to be Thomas Robinson of Kansas. In fact, with a stupendous average of 17.4 points and 11.9 rebounds a game, we would have no hesitation at selecting Thomas Robinson for the Naismith and Wooden Awards.

On his own Robinson accounts for a major chunk of the Jayhawk offense. A couple of more parlays with monsters and his team will be going places this March Madness.

Anthony Davis, Kentucky

If there was a game changer amongst the ACC teams this March, it would have to be Basketball Player Anthony Davis. Such has been his game play that teams that clashed against Kentucky’s ace in the hole have been forced to change their strategy mid-way.

The 6’11” freshman of the Year for Kentucky is like an impregnable defensive wall for their opponents and when it comes to offense, Davis might not yet be perfect but is definitely a serious threat – one that can only get worse for the teams that clash with Kentucky this March Madness.

Davis also has a unique ability to not only create extra shots for himself but also for his team mates Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Doron Lamb. Davis most definitely has the potential to make a big splash this March basketball tournament.

Fab Melo, Syracuse

The seven-foot sophomore Fab Melo is the star defense for Syracuse and one of the best we are likely to see this March basketball tournament.

People have pointed out to seniors such as Scoop Jardine and Kris Joseph who take care of scoring points for Syracuse. That may be so but then their offense is not as top caliber as their defense.

Melo’s length and instincts in the middle ensure that nearly all attempts by the opposing team are blocked and waylaid. When you combine that kind of power with reasonable good offense, you have a game changer on your hands. So when you bet this March Madness, factor in Fab Melo, you won’t go wrong in your prediction.

Austin Rivers, Duke

Those who watched the Duke’s win at North Carolina especially the buzzer-beating three-pointer to win the game will know we have it right when we short-list Austin Rivers.

Austin Rivers is definitely a first-class scorer for Duke and someone who can make a lot of difference this March basketball tournament. Anthony Davis might be the top freshman but Austin Rivers is a close second. Here is a full Austin Rivers biography. Son of Celtics coach Doc Rivers, if Austin develops his defensive skills, he would probably be the most dangerous man in the March basketball tournaments.

Kendall Marshall, North Carolina

We started off our list of underclass men with an introduction to Kendall and right so. With 9.8 assists per game, sophomore Kendall Marshall ranks second in the nation and North Carolina are lucky to have such formidable talent amongst them. However, his low score of 7.1 points a night this season is something that has cause for concern.

If North Carolina is to retain its dominant position, Kendall Marshall is going to have to pull out a few mini miracles during this March basketball tournament. But let us not assume that his talent has deserted him. We all have our off days. Kendall Marshall is a star and his talent is beyond doubt.
