NBA standings 2011-2012

Let’s first draw the picture at the eastern conference standings of the men’s division NBA championships. From the Atlantic division, Philadelphia is heading the table but things are looking pretty bleak for them presently, given the fact that they have had the misfortune of four consecutive losses tarnishing their brilliant Pct. Following in closely behind them is the Knicks. After having defeated the New Jersey Jets, they have come up to second position equaling their wins to the 17 losses. Boston is dropping quickly in the table with a five game losing streak. Their on road performance has been something that the team needs to look into. And trailing in at number four and five are Toronto and New Jersey respectively.

In the central division Detroit trails in at last with a dismal 3-14 on road performance. Cleveland and Milwaukee are in third and fourth position respectively, with just one win separating the two. But Cleveland has performed a tad better above the other in the last ten matches winning 5 of them.  The Central Division leaders, is by far Chicago, who have gathered an appreciable lead over Indiana at second position. The leader have had an excellent run with just two losses to their 8 wins in the last ten games, whereas Indiana managed to just win five of their ten.

And in the down south of the eastern conference, things are looking pretty good for the Miami side. With the best Pct of .788 and a winning streak of seven matches, the side has blasted ahead of the others. Orlando and Atlanta come in at second and third with 22 wins and 19 wins, respectively.  Charlotte is looking down the barrel with just four wins from their 32 games. Washington hasn’t fared well either with just seven wins.

Now shifting our attention to the western conference, we find San Antonio heading the table in the South West division. They have a great home record of 13 wins against just one loss. They would have also had a perfect ten wins in the last ten if not for the last game loss. Dallas is trailing in at second close on the heels of San Antonio with 21 wins and 12 losses. Houston and Memphis are in the third and fourth positions, both having 19 wins under their belt. New Orleans hasn’t had much luck in the championship and hasn’t shown any improvement over the last couple of weeks.

On the northwest front, things are looking quite good for the Oklahoma City side how have notched up a Pct of .788. They have won four games on the trot and have extremely good records both home and on road. With 26 wins and 7 losses, they are going to dabble and experiment with the squad, having made sure that they make it to the playoffs.  Denver is trailing in at second but they are neck and neck with Portland, coming in at third. It’s a dismal state of affairs for the Utah Jazz side, who find themselves at the bottom of the table.  The side is at .484 pct and for the first time below .5 pct. Minnesota went up on spot above Utah and has now won five of the last ten matches.

And finally in the Pacific division of the Western conference NBA Standings report, the table leaders are the LA Clippers. But here, there aren’t any clear winners in this region with all of them, barring Sacramento within striking distance of the table top spot. LA Clippers are in second position winning six of the last ten matches, and has a total of 19 wins against 13 loses. Phoenix and Golden Gate are in third and fourth position, with Sacramento following in last.
