Miami Heat take Game 4 to tie the series
The 2013 NBA Finals is shaping up to be a very exciting one to watch, as it was expected from these two great teams. The San Antonio Spurs started with a win against the Miami Heat but finished their stay in Florida at 1-1. As the action moved to San Antonio, the Spurs took the lead again but Miami showed that they are able to bounce back and make it 2-2 in this best-of-seven series.
Game 4
Game 4 was played on Thursday and the pressure was incredibly high on both sides, but especially on Miami. No team has ever come back from a 3-1 deficit to win an NBA final, so this could have most likely been the game to end it all.
With their backs up against the wall and some hopes of defending their NBA title remaining, the Miami Heat showed an incredible performance with the Big Three taking control of the game and finishing 109-93. This made the series tied and guaranteed that the Heat will get to play another game in Miami.
The LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh combination showed the world what the Big Three are known for and had their best game of the series. They scored for a combined 85 points and looked unstoppable towards the end.
James had the game-high 33 points, despite starting off a bit slow, and declared that it was all on their shoulders to pull through in this game and that it is hard to stop them when all three are clicking at the same time. Wade was just one point short but got his best score of the playoffs with 32 points. Bosh matched his best postseason performance with 20 points and got 13 rebounds.
For the Spurs, Tim Duncan scored 20 points and Tony Parker made a pretty good comeback after being away due to a hamstring and got 15 points for San Antonio.
The game was even at halftime, with both teams showing a lot of aggression and getting 49 points on the board. However, this completely changed once the players came back from break and the Miami Heat kicked it up a notch. Towards the end of the game, the Spurs had an 11-point disadvantage, with just 6 minutes left on the clock and the Heat continued to pull away to finish 16 points ahead. LeBron James got nine points in the final stretch as he played a very aggressive game to make up for the 36-point loss they suffered on Tuesday.
Best-of-three betting
The NBA Finals is now down to a best-of-three series since both teams got two of the first four games. Game Five will be played on Sunday, in San Antonio, with the players returning to Miami for Game Six. The series decided will be played here as well, if it is necessary. This means that the Spurs have to take the win in their last game at home before losing the home-court advantage for the next games.
Online sportsbooks expect it to be a very close game on Sunday but put the San Antonio Spurs as underdogs with a +1½ point spread. The money line will be even for the Spurs and -120 for the Heat; most gamblers thus far chose to bet on the hosts. As far as the whole series goes, the Heat have a -260 money line while the Spurs are at +220.
